Museum educators are transforming learning experiences for students in leading university art museums around the world. Please help provide similar experiences for students and the wider community.

Education is at the heart of all UQ Art Museum programs.

Thanks to your generous support, we realised our dream of a Collection Study Room within the UQ Art Museum – a custom-built study room providing unprecedented access to original artworks from The University of Queensland’s outstanding Art Collection.

The challenge now is to activate this space to its full potential as a hub for learning.

An outstanding educator can make this happen. We need a PhD-qualified professional with a passion for sharing their knowledge of art and the UQ Art Collection – someone dedicated to creating a learning environment where original artworks become vital teaching instruments, no matter what the student’s degree.

We urgently seek your support to fund an outstanding educator in time for classes in 2016.

To achieve our education ambitions, we must double the investment we can make on our own – so we seek your help.

To demonstrate our commitment to education, UQ Art Museum will match your donation to this appeal, dollar for dollar, up to $60,000.

Together we can bring the Alumni Friends of UQ Collection Study Room to life by funding a dedicated educator position.

With your generous support, students can discover the power of art-based learning. By matching every dollar you donate to this appeal up to $60,000 your donation impact is doubled.

“Great art challenges the way we look at the world – but for young people, I believe the biggest barrier to our engagement with art is confidence. Guided education is the best way to break down the barriers.” – Jessica Olding, UQ Bachelor of Arts, Art History student.
